Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has condemned the Sindh government over its incompetence and corruption that resulted in closure of a hospital that used to facilitate over 2500 children a day.

The JI leader was addressing a protest demonstration held outside the Children Hospital building in Shadman Town Area of Karachi, here on Tuesday.
A large number of the hospital staffers, area residents, affected people and the JI workers participated in the demonstration. The protestors, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against the provincial government for chocking funds of the medical facility.
Addressing the protestors, the JI leader said that unfortunately the staffers at the hospital have not been paid for the last seven months by the Sindh government, resulting in closure of the hospital.
He added that several precious lives have been lost at the door of the hospital and the PPP government in Sindh was directly responsible for it.
The JI leader highlighted that the public health department was being run in Sindh by the family of Asif Ali Zardari.
He said that the Sindh government had allocated Rs172 billion for the health department but it could not pay for salaries and medicines for the hospital.
Engr Naeem said that the incompetence, corruption and commission culture of the Sindh government failed the NGO powered project for hospitals and schools.
He added that the Sindh government was liable to pay a sum of Rs2.5 billion to the hospital. He maintained that the center has also kept a mum over the issue which was tantamount to criminal negligence.

The JI leader also appealed the judiciary to look into the matter that has already been transformed into a human crises. He appealed for restoration of the hospital.
Syed Wajih Hassan, the district head of the party, also addressed the protest demonstration.
