According to court documents, a Brisbane lady poisoned her housemate’s food and drink with liquid Mortein because she was concerned about how her beloved cat was handled.

Anahera Te Raukura Alexander became upset after a disagreement with her roommates over the animal she was caring for, and she assaulted one before slashing the tires of a car the next day.

When challenged by authorities, she admitted to placing a little amount of liquid pesticide in milk and a yogurt container in the fridge. According to Brisbane District Court, none of her housemates was aware that the products had been poisoned. Alexander, 20, was joined in court by her girlfriend as she pleaded guilty to two charges of trying to hurt with a noxious chemical and one count each of common assault and wilful damage on Thursday.

When the horrifying crimes occurred, she was living in Paddington with her male and female housemates, according to the court. Alexander got into an altercation with them on February 22nd, last year, regarding the handling of her pet cat after one of her roommates was injured by the animal. During a brief scuffle, Alexander threatened the female roommate and scratched her knuckle, according to crown prosecutor James Coughlan.

The police were summoned, and Alexander was heard whining in court about wanting to “murder” her female roommate. The next morning, the male roommate awoke to discover two of his car’s tires cut and deflated. He departed to file a police report, but when he returned, he saw the other two tires had been slashed.

Alexander admitted to the attack and damaged the tires before saying to police she had poured a little amount of the liquid Mortein into her roommates’ milk carton and yogurt container.

“You told another flatmate that you wished the complainants died… “You stated that you were quite unhappy with the complainants, and the situation deteriorated,” Judge Anthony Rafter stated.

According to the court, Alexander only used a little amount of poison in the food and drink, and there was “no hint” that swallowing them would have catastrophic repercussions.

The amount of liquid Mortein in the yogurt was so minuscule that it was impossible to identify. Alexander’s defense attorney stated that his client had the support of her boyfriend and was seeking continuing therapy for mental health difficulties. He said the young lady, who had no criminal record or convictions, had lately secured a full-time job.

Alexander had offered to pay compensation for the damaged tires as a demonstration of repentance. Judge Rafter did not record any convictions but did impose a two-year probation term on Alexander. In addition, she was forced to pay $600 in restitution for the tires.
