Queen Elizabeth did not attend the usual Easter service attended by senior royal family members on Sunday, instead spending the day with her granddaughter Princess Beatrice.

On Easter Sunday, Beatrice, her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, their daughter Sienna, and Edoardo’s son Wolfie paid a visit to the 95-year-old Queen at Windsor Castle, according to OK! Magazine.

Sienna, Beatrice and Edoardo’s seven-month-old baby, spent her first Easter with her great grandma as a result of the visit.

Beatrice is well-known for her close relationship with Queen Elizabeth, whom she previously referred to as her role model in life, alongside her mother Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife.

Beatrice and the Queen are claimed to be so close that she was given her wedding tiara by the monarch to wear during her wedding to Edoardo.

Due to her deteriorating health, the Queen was unable to attend the Easter service, which was filled by Prince Charles and Camilla.
