The boxer exhibited his empty wrist in a video message uploaded on Instagram and said: ‘Feels a bit weird not wearing a watch. I’m all good, me and the wife.’
On Monday night, Amir Khan stated that his £71,000 watch was stolen at gunpoint outside an east London restaurant.
Two individuals chased the former world champion down the street, one brandishing a gun in his face before stealing the diamond-encrusted Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph watch.
The males had escaped in a getaway car along High Road in Leyton at 9.15pm when police arrived and searched the area.
Khan, 35, assured supporters that he and his 30-year-old wife Faryal Makhdoom were safe following the incident. She later published photos of the watch, along with its serial number, in an attempt “find out who’s done this”.
He tweeted: “Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton.
“I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was few steps behind me. Two men ran to me, he asked for my watch whist having a gun pointed in my face.
“The main thing is we’re both safe.”
The couple were at the end of a night out and were ambushed outside the Sahara Grill venue.
An eyewitness told The Sun Khan was “absolutely terrified”, adding of the muggers: “They were not hanging around. They got straight into the car and fled.
“Amir had enjoyed a lovely evening with his wife and had been shopping earlier in the day.
“It raises real fears he was a deliberate target. It’s extremely serious.”
Olympic medalist Khan had earlier published images on Instagram of himself shopping with a pal in Oxford Street while wearing the stunning rose gold watch with 719 diamonds.
On Friday, the actor wore the watch to a charity event for his foundation at the Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane.
