Fire men react to home explosion in Plum

There is now an emergency situation at a residence on Hialeah Drive in the 5000 block of the street.

There were three people and two children in the residence when the fire broke out, according to officials on the scene. Immediately before to the explosion, they were sound asleep.

Forbes Hospital in Monroeville received four patients. For burns treatment, a youngster in the residence was taken to Mercy Hospital. All of them should be OK.

Officials on the site said a gas explosion is a possibility but haven’t been able to confirm it yet.
