Heartwarming Video: Maharashtra Police provides water to thirsty monkeys

A video of officers in Maharashtra providing water to thirsty monkeys has gone popular on the internet. Specifically, traffic officers stationed at Malshej ghat on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway were observed carrying multiple water bottles to provide to animals crossing the road from neighbouring forests.

A police officer clothed in uniform can be seen handing a bottle for the monkey to sip water in a video of the touching encounter. The monkey also uses his hands to grip the bottle and relieve his thirst.

The video was shared on an Instagram page called ‘StreetDogsofBombay’, with the caption, ”Watch till end 🙌❤️ – SALUTE TO MAHARASHTRA POLICE FOR THE KINDNESS AND COMPASSION TOWARDS VOICELESS BABIES. SUMMER HEAT IS RISING AND VOICELESS BABIES ARE SEARCHING FOR WATER SO PLEASE KEEP WATER BOWLS OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE AND SAVE THEM FROM HEAT. Also we often see strays stand for hours near any shop/hotel with a hope that someone might offer leftover food. They don’t know that money is needed to buy food. On the other hand people discriminate between breed dogs and strays. Strays are considered as dirt.”
