Sex teacher jailed

A teacher at a top private school has been imprisoned for more than two years for preying on a schoolgirl and referring to her as “my angel.”

Nicola Park, 42, brought the 15-year-old girl to her house for sex after becoming close to her when her marriage ended.

Her victim stayed at Parks’ house in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, many times and the two had intercourse. The student first contacted Park in December 2016 because she was feeling “alone,” and Park reassured her at a Glasgow Sheriff’s Court hearing that she understood her feelings.

Jennifer McKee, the prosecutor, told the court: “Park, she said, would not comprehend how she felt.

“She said that she understood, having recently divorced her spouse, ” Park provided the youngster assistance, which helped her cope with her emotions.

Park, the school’s assistant housemistress, informed the student that she may contact her outside of school hours.

She then began exchanging emails with the girl on a daily basis, including messages on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The math instructor addressed herself as “Auntie Nic” and signed off with a series of kisses before referring to the youngster as “my angel.”

A court heard that the couple met surreptitiously in January 2017, with Park informing her that they “shouldn’t” be meeting.

“Park suggested that they probably shouldn’t be meeting up,” Miss McKee continued.

“The girl felt special because Park was willing to breach the rules for her by meeting her.”

Park kissed the girl on many occasions and texted the youngster before she departed on vacation, telling her, “You are my angel.” “I adore you to pieces.”

She also invited the girl to her house in Hyndland for sexual activities before the girl attempted to break off communication in 2020.

The now-18-year-old was attending university, but Park allegedly battled with the “breakdown” and “displayed manipulative behaviour” toward the girl.
