Shahid Afridi answers to PM Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion
Former captain Shahid Afridi has pleaded for at least one elected government’s tenure to be completed, as Prime Minister Imran Khan appears to be on his way out.
“It has been 74 years since Pakistan’s independence. For God’s sake let at least one elected government complete its constitutional term,” tweeted Afridi.
In expressing his support for Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government, Afridi stated that repairing 74 years of “wrongdoing” will take time.

The sports star’s statement comes as the National Assembly prepares to vote on a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday. The prime minister has committed to play “till the last ball.”
However, Prime Minister Imran Khan has lost his majority in the lower house after government allies — MQM-P, BAP, and independent Balochistan candidate Aslam Bhootani — shifted sides and indicated their support for the no-confidence resolution.
