The news that the West Wing alum would be appearing in the upcoming Netflix series Unstable surfaced in April 2022. On the comedy, the two will portray a father and son and will also act as executive producers.

John previously worked on 9-1-1: Lone Star alongside his father. On the Fox drama, Rob plays fire captain Owen Strand, while John contributes as a writer and story editor to the project. Chad Lowe, Rob’s brother, directed two episodes of the drama between 2021 and 2022.
In 2015 and 2016, Rob and John played Dean Sanderson and Joel Zadak, respectively, on The Grinder. In 2016, Chad reunited with his brother as a director for one episode of the comedy.

Rob teamed together with both of his sons, John and Edward Lowe, to create the short-lived series The Lowe Files a year later. The show followed the Lowe brothers as they investigated some of the world’s most renowned unsolved mysteries.
