During a train ride from Poland to Kyiv on Saturday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson commended the tenacity of Ukrainian rail employees during the conflict with Russia.

Oleksandr Shevchenko, a spokesman for Ukrainian railways, released a video of his presentation on Facebook on Sunday.

The British leader responded, “I understand you are referred to as the ‘iron people.'”

“Not only because of the business you’re in. That you are standing up to this horrible violence shows the spirit of Ukraine as well.”

As a means of rescuing civilians from crisis zones, Ukrainian railways have played an important role.

It’s an honour to work with Ukrainian railways, and I want to express my gratitude to everyone there for their efforts.

“We in the United Kingdom are here to support you.”
