Vanessa Paradis, Johnny Depp’s ex, goes grocery shopping in Los Angeles as the actor’s defamation trial in Virginia continues… after previously supporting him in a libel case.
In the midst of Johnny Depp’s continuing libel trial in Virginia against his ex-wife Amber Heard, Vanessa Paradis was seen shopping for groceries in Studio City, California on Wednesday.
Over a white T-shirt with a logo of a Rolling Stones tour, the 49-year-old actress-model-singer wore a navy blue coat with flowery designs. She completed her look with a pair of dark eyeglasses with brown frames and blue trousers with brown boots.
The France-born Paradis had previously shown her support for Depp during his libel trial against The Sun, which was rejected in November 2020 for labelling him a “wife beater.”
Paradis told a British court in July 2020 that the actor’s behavior, which she witnessed from 1998 to 2012 while married to him, did not match the charges presented by Heard, 35.
‘I have known Johnny for more than 25 years,’ Paradis said. ‘We’ve been partners for 14 years and we raised our two children together. Through all these years I’ve known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous and non-violent person and father.
‘On movie sets the actors, directors and entire crews adore him because he is humble and respectful to everyone, as well as being one of the best actors we’ve seen.’
She continued: ‘I am aware of the allegations which Amber Heard has publicly accused Johnny of for more than four years now. This is nothing like the true Johnny I have known, and from my personal experience of many years, I can say he was never violent or abusive to me.’
Paradis said that the ‘outrageous statements’ made by Heard had been ‘really distressing,’ and had negatively impacted Depp’s career ‘because unfortunately people have gone on believing these false facts.
‘This is so upsetting as he has helped so many persons in his personal and professional life, with kindness and generosity.’
