Police also spoke with an individual who reportedly assisted in the removal of Rogers’ body, who stated that Matzen wrapped Rogers’ body in a rug and placed it in the trunk of a car. Matzen reportedly instructed the man to drive the automobile to a forested area near an industrial park, where Rogers’ body was discovered.

Matzen informed police after his arrest that his relationship with Rogers “wasn’t working out.” Police erroneously informed Matzen that a doorbell camera had seen him taking a body from the property, to which he replied that it was a “400-pound sex doll.”
