A head-on accident between two passenger buses in Bangladesh’s Natore district, around 200 kilometres northwest of the capital Dhaka, killed at least seven people and injured 20, according to a senior police officer.
According to Mashiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Natore’s Bonpara Highway Police Station Station, “at least 7 individuals were killed in the head-on accident.”
He claimed the traffic collision happened at 11:00 a.m. local time and wounded about 20 persons.
He claimed that all of the injured were sent to nearby hospitals and clinics, and that the reason of the disaster is being investigated.
Bangladesh has the world’s highest road accident death rate due to bad motorways, poorly maintained automobiles, unskilled drivers violating traffic regulations, and a lack of traffic department surveillance.
