DG FIA appoints Jahanzb Nazir as Director Lahore Zone-1

Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Rai Tahir on Wednesday appointed DIG Jahanzb Nazir Khan as new Director FIA Lahore Zone-1.

The important post was lying vacant since former director DIG Dr Muhammad Rizwan was transferred who later on died due to heart attack.

FIA Lahore Zone-1 is currently in news as several high profile money laundering cases against political elite including the incumbent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son incumbent Chief Minister Punjab and disgruntled leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Jahangir Khan Tareen and his family.

The DG FIA also transferred eight Assistant Directors from ADG North office Islamabad and posted at different stations of FIA in Islamabad, Punjab and KPK.

Those transferred include Siraj Muhammad posted at ACC Peshawar,  Mr. Muazam Ali at Multan, Muhammad Bilal at CCC Lahore, Ms Gul Shahnaz Akram at ACC Lahore, Ms. Fatima Tu Zuhra at FIA Gujarat,  Ms. Sidra Hashmi at ACC Islamabad, Ms. Mehak Gul at CBC Islamabad and Mir Faizan Ul Haq at FIA CCC Islamabad.

Separate notifications have been issued in this regard.

On the other hand, it is learnt that DG FIA Rai Tahir has removed several FIA officials from service while taking disciplinary actions against them on the charges of misconduct, misuse of power & corruption.

Those dismissed from service include Inspector Shabbir Ahmad Chandio of Karachi Zone, Sub Inspector Gulzar Ahmad of Faisalabad Zone and Sub Inspector Uzma Aslam of Lahore Zone.

On the other hand, Sub Inspector Sanjay Kumar has been awarded punishment of forfeiture of one year approved service. Similarly, appeal of Driver/Constable Tauqeer Abbas has been rejected.
