According to a statement released by his campaign on Sunday, Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor and U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman had a stroke on Friday.
Fetterman stated that he is on his road to complete recovery and that his physicians informed him that he had suffered no cognitive harm.
“I wasn’t feeling well on Friday, so I went to the hospital to get checked out.” I didn’t want to go, and I didn’t believe I had to, but Gisele persisted, and she was correct as always. I wasn’t feeling well, but I was so concentrated on the campaign that I ignored the warning signs and kept going. It eventually caught up with me on Friday. My stroke was caused by a clot from my heart being in an A-fib rhythm for an extended period of time. Fortunately, Gisele recognized the signs and rushed me to the hospital. The excellent specialists here were able to remove the clot fast and completely, reversing the stroke, and they also put my heart under control.
“It’s a wonderful reminder to listen to your body and recognize the warning signals,” Fetterman said in a statement on Sunday.
“The good news is that I’m feeling a lot better, and the doctors say I haven’t suffered any cognitive impairment.” I’m on my road back to full health. As a result, I have a lot to be thankful for. They’re keeping me here for observation for the time being, but I should be gone shortly. The doctors have informed me that I will be able to return to the path, but first I need to rest and heal. “There’s a lot riding on this race, and I’m going to be ready for the tough struggle ahead,” he continued.
