Following a gangland shooting in Greenacre, police initiated a raid on organized criminal networks, and two top bikies will face court. Tarek Zahid, the Comanchero bikie gang’s national sergeant-at-arms, was detained by police after reportedly violating a severe crime prevention order.

The 41-year-old was charged about 10 a.m. on Friday with failing to inform the police that he was transferring residence while visiting NSW. Mr. Zahed is appearing in court on June 22 at the Downing Centre Local Court.

On Wednesday night, a barrage of gunfire killed infamous mobster Mahmoud Ahmad in the Sydney neighborhood of Greenacre. Ahmad’s death, according to Police Minister Paul Toole, reinforced officials’ desire to apprehend and charge people.

Mr. Toole stated, “The message is simple: if you’re even remotely linked with organized crime, authorities are monitoring, they have leads, and they will act.”

On Thursday, a 50-year-old member of the Bandidos bikie group was also apprehended. He was transported to Bankstown Police Station and charged with possessing or using a banned weapon without a permit, as well as having a handgun on the premises that was subject to a restriction order.

He has been denied bail and is expected in court on Thursday. There is no evidence linking either guy to Ahamd’s purported murder. Police obtained a lot of information in the days preceding up to and after Ahmad’s death, according to State Crime Command Director Detective Chief Superintendent Darren Bennett.

“However, avoiding such disasters is an imperfect science – and a difficult one at that,” he warned.

“Ahmad was repeatedly warned of a life-threatening situation, but he decided to disregard the warnings, resulting in his death.”

Chief Superintendent Bennett stated that a substantial number of police had been dispatched to help Homicide investigators in the murder investigation and to prevent future violence. “This kind of barbarism will not be accepted,” he stated. “I simply want to reassure everyone that preventing these killings and bringing those guilty accountable is of the utmost priority to cops.”

On Thursday, Raptor Squad police successfully raided two residences in Sydney’s south. Thousands of dollars in cash, luxury jewelry, and illegal substances were confiscated during one arrest. Two different units yielded 18 grams of cocaine, $24,050 in cash, a banned firearm, a prohibited weapon, and cannabis.

The Organised Crime Squad raided homes in Yagoona, Bankstown, Horningsea Park, and Lane Cove West on Friday.

Police recovered $40,000 in cash, fancy watches, and electronic gadgets, and banned narcotics such as cocaine, cannabis, and steroids during these inspections. In October 2021, Strike Force Hawk was formed to combat organized crime across the state.

Over 800 charges have been filed against approximately 250 persons, with over 70 guns confiscated.
