A sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a driver following a “physical struggle” after the officer pulled a car over in western Michigan Allegan County.
Around 10 p.m. Thursday, the deputy was conducting a traffic check in Salem Township, northwest of Wayland, when the officer and the guy got into a fight.
Joseph Maverick Nagle, 22, of Comstock Park, identified as the deceased by state police.
State police Lt. DuWayne Robinson told that no indication of a firearm was located on the motorist. He also mentioned that there is no footage of the incident from a body camera or a dashcam.

Michigan Allegan County Sheriff Frank Baker stated that Nagle was the sole occupant of the car. He stated that the deputy was brought to the hospital following the incident for evaluation, but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
