The rockets are North Korea’s 17th launch of the year. The most recent, on May 25; occurred just as US Vice President Joe Biden was wrapping up his trip to Asia and preparing to return to the United States. The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea says, the eight missiles flew between 110 and 670 kilometres (68 to 416 miles); at altitudes ranging from 25 to 90 kilometres (15 to 55 miles) with speeds ranging from Mach 3 to Mach 6.
