Olivia Pratt-Korbel, who was shot in her house in Liverpool, has been identified as the victim of a homicide investigation, and a man has been charged with her death.

While the girl’s mother was attempting to stop a gunman who was chasing another guy into their home, the nine-year-old girl was shot and killed.

Thomas Cashman, 34, of West Derby, Liverpool, has been charged with the attempted murder of Olivia Korbel’s mother, Cheryl Korbel, as well as Joseph Nee. Cashman is also accused with the attempted murder of Olivia Korbel.

On August 22, Olivia was shot in the chest, and her mother was injured, as Mr. Nee was being chased into their home in the Dovecot neighbourhood.

Additionally, Mr. Cashman has been charged with two charges of possessing a firearm with the intent to endanger life, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Monday at the Liverpool Magistrates’ Court.

A charge of providing assistance to a criminal has been brought against Paul Russell, age 40, of Snowberry Road in West Derby.

Around 22:00 British Standard Time (BST), on Kingsheath Avenue, the mother of Olivia was shot in the wrist as she tried to shut the door to prevent two males from entering.

Olivia was ultimately killed as a result of the shooter’s continuing fire. The family was not familiar with either of the men.

Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Constable Chris Green stated that his team had worked “relentlessly” in what has been described as “a complicated case, supported by Olivia’s mom and dad and the wider Merseyside community.”

According to Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Kameen, the probe is still “very much a live investigation.”

He was quoted as saying, “Our work continues… we are steadfast in our commitment to find all those implicated.”
