Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer
This year’s Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in So Paulo, Brazil, opened with panels for Disney’s Marvel Studios, which revealed important information in advance of the franchise’s Phase 5. The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, filmmaker James Gunn’s third and final installment in his MCU trilogy, joined president and producer Kevin Feige at the panels, where they finally unveiled the first official teaser to the public.
At the Phase 5 panels for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the third and final volume of the GotG trilogy on Thursday, CCXP got right to work. Due to problems with the VFX shots at SDCC in July, Gunn was hesitant to release the trailer to the public. However, only a few months later, the director has, at last, made the first-look trailer for his final Guardians film available to the public.
Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who is now working with the Ravagers, may be seen trying to convince Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) that she is not the Gamora he is in love with in the trailer. Like the previous two, Star-Lord has a special place in his heart for music, and the soundtrack undoubtedly reflects that. As the Guardians embark on their third and final adventure, Gunn uses Spacehog’s “In the Meantime” for the trailer.
We knew Vol. 3 would probably be the most emotionally intense of the trilogy even before the trailer debuted. The Gamora who joins Quill’s crew of brave thieves after the events of Avengers: Infinity War isn’t the same one who fell in love with him in the earlier movies. In addition to the already present depressing elements, the upcoming episode will introduce fresh dangers in the form of Chukwudi Iwuji’s High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter, and some tragic backstory for Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon.
Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special debuted exclusively on Disney+ earlier this month as a festive Christmas surprise for fans. The humorous special welcomed actor Kevin Bacon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It gave us scene after scene of Drax and Mantis riffing off one another, but it also had its own surprises. The big news was dropped by the GotG Holiday Special, which revealed that Mantis is actually Quill’s sister and that Kurt Russell’s Ego is also her father. The Guardians have acquired Knowhere from the Collector (Benicia del Toro), have adopted Cosmo the Spacedog (Maria Bakalova), are currently sailing aboard the Bowie, and Groot (Vin Diesel) has grown significantly since we last saw him.
So buckle up, because Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3—the second film in the MCU’s Phase 5—is scheduled to debut in theatres on May 5, 2023. Below is a link to the newest trailer:
