ECP reserves decision on allocation of election symbol to IPP
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reserved its decision on the allocation of the electoral symbol ‘eagle’ to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, (IPP).
A three-member ECP bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, heard the legal representative of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
The IPP counsel appealed to the Commission to allot the party the election symbol of ‘eagle’.
Upon this, the CEC asked him to provide alternative preferences. Subsequently, the Election Commission postponed its decision regarding the allocation of election symbol to the IPP.
Earlier, President of Istehkam-Pakistan Party (IPP) Abdul Aleem Khan chaired an important meeting of the party divisional leaders.
In the meeting, the current political situation of the country and organizational issues of the party were discussed.
The president IPP maintained that there was no ambiguity about the election, and directed the party leaders to start election campaign immediately.
