
PTI chairman’s arrest warrant issued in Toshakhana, £190 million scandals
The Accountability Court of Islamabad on Monday issued arrest warrant for PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Toshakhana and 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust cases.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed an application to comply with the arrest warrant of Chairman PTI.
Deputy Prosecutor General NAB Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, Prosecutor Irfan Bhola, Investigation Officers Mohsin, Waqarul Hasan, Mian Umar Nadeem and others appeared before the court.
The court inquired the prosecutor that what did the High Court do in these cases.
To which the prosecutor replied that the matter is pending, mentioning that the court neither suspended the order nor issued a standing order.
The NAB Prosecutor requested the court to issue arrest warrant for Imran Khan while urging the Adiala Jail Superintendent to take immediate action.
The warrants are expected to be complied with in jail today. Imran Khan will be provided with a copy of the warrant as well as briefed about reasons for his arrest.
The court ordered the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to take steps to comply with the arrest warrant as per law.
