
Ex-PTI chief, Qureshi indicted in Cipher case again
- Both have pleaded not guilty to their involvement
- This was second time PTI leaders were indicted.
- The regular trial cipher case will begin in Adiala Jail.
Rawalpindi: Former Chairman of Pakistan Tehreak e Insaf (PTI) and former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi have been indicted in a cipher case again, however, both accused refuted the charges.
Special Court Judge Abdul Hasnant heard the cipher case at Adiala Jail. The indictment against the founder PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi was pronounced by the judge of the Special Court
Both politicians have pleaded not guilty to their involvement in the offense related to the alleged misuse of diplomatic cable for political purposes.
This was the second time that the PTI leaders were indicted
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Special Prosecutors Shah Khawar and Zulfikar Abbas Naqvi appeared in the court. Founder PTI’s lawyer Usman Gul and Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s lawyer Barrister Taimur Malik appeared in the court.
After the indictment of the accused, the regular trial of the cipher case will begin in Adiala Jail.

Earlier, the lawyer of founder PTI, Barrister Salman Safdar, alleged that there was no open trial in the cipher case and said that the selected media had been called in, on which the judge of the special court said that he would look into the matter.
