Muslims worldwide are preparing for the upcoming sacred month of Ramadan, set to commence in less than two months.
According to astronomical calculations, Ramadan 2024 in Saudi Arabia is expected to begin on March 11, marking the first winter season observance in 26 years. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society Board of Directors, noted the winter season starts on December 22 and extends until March 20.
Fasting hours during Ramadan will vary, with potential durations ranging from 12 to 17 hours in different countries. Regions like the Gulf and the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt, may experience fasting hours between 13 to 15 hours, depending on geographical location.
Eid ul-Fitr is expected to be on April 10 or 11 in Saudi Arabia, according to experts.
Pakistan’s Meteorological Office and related departments have not yet announced the tentative start date for Ramadan 2024. Typically, the country observes the first day of Ramadan either a day after it begins in Saudi Arabia or on the same day.
