LAHORE:  Lahore High Court (LHC) reserved verdict on the intra-court appeal to remove Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar from office.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqer Najafi heard the intra-court appeal filed by Muqasit Saleem Advocate seeking the removal of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar from office.

The government lawyer said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the general elections and general elections are going to be held on February 8.

The ECP has started printing the ballot papers, after which the petition has become ineffective and should be dismissed.

It was argued in the petition that the caretaker prime minister’s constitutional term of 90 days was completed on November 15, and it is illegal for the caretaker prime minister to remain in office after 90 days.
