Governor Punjab summons Punjab Assembly session on Feb 23
LAHORE: The session of Punjab Assembly will be convened on February 23 (tomorrow) where newly elected members will take oath.
Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman has also issued a notification to convene a meeting of the Punjab Assembly.
The Punjab Assembly session will be held tomorrow at 10 am, the newly elected members will take oath in the Punjab Assembly session. The Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Sabatin Khan will administer the oath to the newly elected members.
It should be remembered that Punjab Assembly is the first provincial assembly which has been convened after the general elections held on February 8 in the country.
In the Punjab Assembly, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz( PML-N) is the party with the highest number of seats with 137 members, while independent candidates are at the second position. Many independent candidates have also announced to join the PML-N.
Earlier, Caretaker Prime Minister (PM), Anwarul Haq Kakar, will hold a meeting of the caretaker federal cabinet today.
The meeting of the caretaker federal cabinet will start today at noon, the overall situation of the country will be reviewed in the meeting.
The Cabinet will extend the deputation of DG Financial Monitoring by 1 year, and the economic and security situation of the country will also be discussed in the meeting.
