LHC rejects plea against jail trial of May 9 arson cases as inadmissible
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court(LHC) dismissed the petition against the jail trial of the May 9 arson cases as inadmissible.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of Lahore High Court heard the petition against the jail trial of the May 9 arson cases.
In the petition, the position was adopted that the notification of the jail trial was not issued in the light of the rules of the High Court while the jail trial cannot be clean and transparent.
Justice Ali Baqar Najafi declared that the notification of jail trial has been issued according to the law, if there is anything illegal in the jail trial, it should be proved.
The court dismissed the petition as inadmissible.
Earlier, Supreme Court (SC) on Monday instructed the police to produce the plaintiff in court regarding a petition seeking to nullify the 2024 elections.
A three-judge panel led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the plea filed by a petitioner named Ali Khan, who sought to invalidate the general elections held on February 8.
