9 killed in Multan as building collapses after cylinder blast
MULTAN: At least 9 people were killed when a 3-storey residential building collapsed in Multan city after cylinder blast.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, a residential building in Mohalla Jawadian area of Multan’s inner city collapsed at 4 am due to its dilapidated condition.
The Deputy Commissioner said that some of the debris of the building fell on the houses located on the right and left of it, as a result of which the dead and the injured were shifted to Nishtar Hospital.
According to the District Emergency Officer, 11 people were buried due to the collapse of the building, now all the people have been evacuated and the rescue operation has been completed.
The rescue officer said that the incident happened due to gas leakage in the kitchen, when the woman lit a fire at sahri time, there was an explosion, a part of the 3-storey building fell on the neighboring house, five siblings and their parents were in this house died.
According to the rescue, a total of nine people died and two were injured in the accident.
