FM Dar arrives in Brussels to attend Nuclear Energy Summit
BRUSSLES: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived here to attend the First Nuclear Energy Summit on Thursday.
He was received by Ambassador of Pakistan to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg Amna Baloch.
Besides participating in the Summit, Foreign Minister Dar will hold bilateral meetings with leaders and foreign ministers of participating countries.
The foreign minister’s participation in the Summit will contribute to further strengthening of Pakistan’s collaboration with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and developing a shared perspective on peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
Earlier, Donald Lu, the US Assistant Secretary of State, once again dismissed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s allegations that the US orchestrated his removal from power by supporting the opposition’s no-confidence motion in April 2022.
Speaking before a Congressional panel on Wednesday, the senior US diplomat categorically stated: “I want to emphasize that this conspiracy theory is false and completely unfounded.”
The hearing, titled ‘Pakistan After the Elections: Examining the Future of Democracy in Pakistan and the US-Pakistan Relationship,’ was convened by the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee, with the assistant secretary serving as the primary witness.
