Latest Passport Fee Update: Urgent Category Cost Increased for Fast Processing

The Pakistani government recently made notable adjustments to passport fees, especially in the urgent category, to speed up passport processing for citizens. These changes align with the government’s goal to streamline passport services and improve efficiency.

As of May 2024, the fees for urgent category passports have been updated as follows:

• Standard 36-page passport for 5 years: The urgent fee has been increased from 5,000 rupees to 7,500 rupees.
• 10-year passport with 36 pages: The urgent fee is now set at 11,200 rupees.

Additionally, individuals choosing larger passport sizes, like a 72-page passport valid for 5 years, will pay an urgent fee of 13,500 rupees, while a 100-page passport valid for 10 years will incur an urgent fee of 20,200 rupees.

Passport Fees: Latest Update

The Immigration and Passports Directorate General has guaranteed that urgent category passport processing will take only five working days, as mentioned on their official website. However, notifications from local offices indicate a processing period of 15 days, causing worry among applicants who report longer processing times, sometimes surpassing 21 days.
