Thunderstorms and rainfall continue across several districts of Punjab, with the Meteorological Department predicting this unfavorable weather to persist until tomorrow.
The areas likely to experience impacts encompass Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Khushab, and Nurpur Thal, with a possibility of rain also anticipated in Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, and Okara, as stated by the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
A PDMA representative mentions that DG Khan, Multan, Khanewal, and Bahawalpur could encounter thundershowers, emphasizing the broad reach of the weather system.
Apart from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also anticipated to witness showers and thunderstorms, with the chance of heavy rainfall accompanied by hailstorms. Additionally, the capital city, Islamabad, is expected to encounter a hailstorm and heavy rain in the evening.
Moreover, areas such as north Balochistan, south Punjab, and upper Sindh are also predicted to receive rainfall in the upcoming hours.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, although partly cloudy to partly cloudy weather is reported, the Meteorological Department notes a high humidity level of 75%. Compared to previous days, there’s a chance of slightly reduced heat intensity in the city with the return of sea breezes.
The city’s maximum temperature is forecast to range between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, accompanied by southwest winds blowing at a speed of 9 kilometers per hour.
Following last night’s rain and storm in Lahore, the heat intensity has diminished. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, with the Meteorological Department forecasting more rain within the next 24 hours.
As several cities across Punjab and Sindh prepare for ongoing rainfall, residents are urged to take necessary precautions and stay informed about weather forecasts to safeguard their safety and well-being amidst the shifting weather patterns.
