In a recent development, the Nanbai Association, representing the traditional breadmakers of Punjab, has announced a province-wide strike scheduled to commence tomorrow. The strike declaration comes as a direct response to what the association views as the administration’s indifference towards their demands. For some time now, the Nanbai Association has been advocating for a review of the pricing structure for bread and naan, the staple food items in the region.

Members of the association have expressed their intent to halt operations of their tandoors, traditional clay ovens, throughout Punjab. This move is anticipated to disrupt the supply of freshly baked bread and naan to numerous households and eateries across the province.
