Weather Update; Rains likely in Lahore, parts of Punjab
Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are bracing for scattered rain, wind, and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The prevailing continental air across most of Pakistan is expected to be affected by a shallow westerly wave entering the western parts of Balochistan, likely influencing the western and upper regions of Pakistan by Friday.
Thursday evening and night are expected to bring mainly dry weather with gusty winds to Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under these conditions. However, Friday and Saturday are anticipated to witness rain, wind, and thunderstorms at isolated places in various districts, including Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kurrum, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Buner, Manshera, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and Swabi.
Peshawar is likely to experience maximum temperatures ranging between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius on Friday and 34 and 36 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
Dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the last 24 hours. Dera Ismail Khan recorded the highest temperature in the province at 34 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 65 percent during the morning. Meanwhile, Peshawar saw a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 67 percent during the morning.
