Sardar Saleem Haider takes oath as Punjab Governor
LAHORE: Sardar Saleem Haider took oath as new governor of Punjab in a ceremony held at the Governor House on Friday.
The swearing in ceremony of Governor Punjab was held at Governor House Lahore in which Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and others participated.
Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan administered the oath to Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.
Sardar Salim Haider belongs to Attock district and he was also a former federal minister. Apart from this, he is also the President of PPP Rawalpindi Division.
Sardar Salim Haider Khan has also been the Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistanis and he has also been the Minister of State for Defence and Defence Production.
He was elected Member National Assembly (MNA) from Attock in 2008 from NA-59.
Earlier, Speaker Punjab Assembly suspended the membership of 27 treasury MPAs who were elected on the reserved seats in the light of the Supreme Court’s verdict.
The membership of 27 MPAs elected on reserved seats were suspended in the Punjab Assembly session chaired by Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan declared the point of order of opposition member Rana Aftab on specific seats as correct. These 27 specific seats for women and minorities were given to the government alliance.
