Students to require PMDC’s NOC for going abroad
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has decided to make the No Objection Certificate (NOC) requirement mandatory for those wishing to pursue medical education abroad.
For 2024 session students have to get NOC from PMDC. Officials say that every year, 3,000 students from Pakistan go abroad for medical education, of which 30 percent are women.
“There is no consumption of such students in Pakistan, most Pakistani students go to China for medical education, Central Asian states and Afghanistan are the second and third favorite countries for students”.
According to officials, more steps are being taken to protect Pakistani students from substandard international universities.
Earlier, Federal Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination has banned the foreign visits of government doctors.
According to the circular issued by the Federal Ministry of Health, government doctors have been banned from going abroad at the expense of pharma companies and donors. The government doctors will not get leave for conferences and seminars abroad.
