Following the approval of the Federal Budget 2024-25 by the National and Provincial Assemblies, government employees will receive salary increases as outlined in the budget proposal.

The federal government, along with the Punjab and Sindh governments, has sanctioned a 25% salary increase for public sector employees. According to the budget proposals, government employees in grades 1-16 will see a 25% rise in their monthly pay starting in July 2024. Additionally, those in grades 17-22 will receive a 20% salary hike.

Furthermore, the federal and provincial governments have approved a 15% increase in pensions for retired government employees. This measure is viewed as a significant effort by the government to address the concerns of its employees and pensioners, especially given the rising cost of living in the country.

Increase in salaries of govt employees from July 2024

In the upcoming 2024-25 budget, the government has approved a salary increase for government employees, ranging from 20% to 25%.

The Finance Bill 2024 proposals have been approved by the National Assembly and the relevant provincial assemblies, with the decision set to take effect in July 2024.
