In a recent interview with ‘Geo News’, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz unveiled an anticipated weather shift for Pakistan, hinting at pre-monsoon rains expected to commence post-June 19. This early onset of rainfall signals a potentially wetter season ahead, marking a departure from usual weather patterns.

Sarfaraz’s forecast emphasizes the likelihood of above-average rainfall for the year, a prospect that brings optimism for many. However, he also cautioned that certain areas may experience prolonged dry spells. Notably, rural regions are expected to remain rain-free during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.

Weather Update for Karachi

In parallel, the Meteorological Department’s latest forecast for Karachi projects ongoing hot and humid conditions for the city within the next 24 hours. Today, Karachi witnessed a minimum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. Looking forward, temperatures are set to soar to a peak of 37 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels hovering around 72%.

While this weather pattern aligns with Karachi’s seasonal norms, the early prediction of monsoon rains introduces a blend of relief and apprehension among residents. The potential for early rains brings hope for a bountiful agricultural season, as timely precipitation can significantly benefit crop yields. However, there’s a cautious awareness of the risks posed by excessive rainfall, including potential flooding and associated challenges.
