ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad handed over Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) leader Rauf Hassan and other party workers to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)  on 2-day physical remand  in a case related to his alleged involvement in anti-state propaganda.

The FIA ​​produced Rauf Hassan in the court of Sessions Court Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah where PTI’s lawyer Latif Khosa appeared in the court.

The FIA ​​prosecutor requested the court for the physical remand of Rauf Hassan and said that the devices of the social media accounts have to be recovered. “There will be further investigation, if the devices are found and physical remand can be required for 30 days in the FIA ​​case”.

Lawyer Latif Khosa opposed Rauf Hassan’s request for physical remand and said that the office of PTI was sealed. The case is in the High Court while 11 judges of the full court said that PTI was a political party and will remain so.

Latif Khosa further said that Rauf Hassan name was included on the statement of an accused. The devices and mobiles of arrested PTI workers are with FIA.

During the hearing, FIA requested for physical remand of Rauf Hassan for 10 days while lawyer requested to discharge Rauf Hassan and others from the case.

The court approved the 2-day physical remand of Rauf Hassan and other PTI workers while sending two women to jail on judicial remand.

It may be remembered that Rauf Hassan was arrested by the police yesterday from PTI central secretariat in Islamabad.
