Dubai driving license renewal fee for Pakistanis in UAE – July 2024

Driving a vehicle on roads in Dubai and other regions of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without a valid driving license is a crime.

All UAE nationals and residents are mandated to possess a valid driving license, as failure to do so can lead to substantial fines. The traffic department can also impose fines if the driving license has expired.

Eligibility and Application

According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) guidelines, residents aged 21 years and above are eligible to apply for a driving license in Dubai.

Those younger than 21 can apply for a probationary driving license.

Documents Required for License Renewal

For Customers Younger than 21 Years Old:

• Original valid Emirates ID.

For Customers 21 Years and Above:

• Original valid Emirates ID.
• Eye test according to the required category.

Dubai Driving License Renewal Fee (July 2024 Update)

For Customers Younger than 21 Years Old:

• 100 AED driver license renewal fee.
• 20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fee.
• 500 AED additional fee for the mobile truck service (eye test and license renewal).

For Customers 21 Years and Older:

• 300 AED driver license renewal fee.
• 20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fee.
• 500 AED additional fee for the mobile truck service (eye test and license renewal).

Penalties for Delay in Renewal

According to the RTA, a delay fine of 10 AED is calculated monthly from the expiration date of the license, with a maximum of 500 AED.

If the license has expired for more than 10 years, the applicant must pass a driving test again to evaluate their skills. The service fee for the evaluation test is as follows:

• 200 AED training file opening fee.
• 100 AED learning application fee.
• 50 AED handbook manual fee.
