Dubai driving license renewal fee update for May 2025
Driving a vehicle on roads in Dubai and other regions of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without a valid driving license is a crime.
All UAE nationals and residents are mandated to possess a valid driving license, as failure to do so can lead to substantial fines. The traffic department can also impose fines if the driving license has expired.
According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) guidelines, residents aged 21 years and above are eligible to apply for a driving license in Dubai.
Those younger than 21 can apply for a probationary driving license.
According to the RTA, a delay fine of 10 AED is calculated monthly from the expiration date of the license, with a maximum of 500 AED.
If the license has expired for more than 10 years, the applicant must pass a driving test again to evaluate their skills. The service fee for the evaluation test is as follows:
