FIA arrests assistant director of NADRA over issuing CNIC to Afghans
KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested the assistant director of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) involved in issuing Computerized National Identity Card to Afghan citizens.
FIA spokesperson said the accused along with his accomplices had issued CNICs to Afghans.
The spokesperson of FIA said that efforts are on to arrest other accomplices of the accused.
Spokesman said during another FIA operation, an accused was arrested and several identification and travel documents were recovered by raiding the office of an illegal travel agency.
The FIA spokesman said that during the raid on the office of the illegal travel agency in Lyari, several passports and identity cards were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
During the search, laptops and other travel documents were also recovered from the office of the travel agency.
Earlier, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) safely recovered two missing children upon their arrival from Bishkek, and the placement of newly introduced INTERPOL’s Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) was appreciated by the aggrieved family.
This significant achievement marks a pivotal moment in enhancing airport security and combating international child abduction cases.
