The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting monsoon rains accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms across various regions of the country.

According to the PMD, strong monsoon currents originating from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are expected to reach the upper parts of Pakistan starting on July 3rd. This weather system is anticipated to bring rain, along with wind or thundershowers, to several areas from July 2nd to 7th, with intermittent breaks.

In Punjab, cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Gujranwala are likely to experience rainfall. Similarly, other parts of Punjab, such as Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, and Faisalabad, are also expected to receive rain during this period.

Southern Punjab districts including Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Layyah are forecasted to have rain from July 4th night to July 7th.

In Kashmir, heavy rain and thunderstorms, including some heavy to very heavy falls at times, are predicted in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur during the week.

Eastern parts of Balochistan, such as Zhob, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Jaffarabad, and Naseerabad, are expected to receive rain from July 3rd to 7th. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is expected in the remaining districts of the province.

Parts of Sindh will also see rainfall from July 4th to July 7th, although most districts in the province will experience mainly hot and very humid weather.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is anticipated in cities including Balakot, Mansehra, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Battagram, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Khyber, Bajaur, and Waziristan.
