The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, under the Ministry of Interior, is responsible for issuing passports to its citizens, enabling them to travel abroad as required by international regulations.

A citizen with a valid Pakistani passport is entitled to protection from Pakistan’s diplomatic and consular representatives while in a foreign country.

A passport is the only document that verifies the identity of a Pakistani citizen abroad and ensures their right to leave and re-enter the country.

Pakistani nationals applying for their passport for the first time need to visit the appropriate passport office or foreign mission to submit their application.

Normal and urgent passport fees in Pakistan in July 2024

Recently, the government increased the fees for both normal and urgent passport categories. Starting in July 2024, the fee for a standard 36-page passport valid for 5 years is now Rs 4,500. Additionally, the urgent processing fee has been raised from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 7,500.

Pakistani Passport Fee Update for Normal & Urgent – July 2024

For a 72-page passport valid for 5 years, the fees are Rs 8,200 for normal processing and Rs 13,500 for urgent processing. For a 100-page passport valid for 10 years, the new fees are Rs 12,400 for regular processing and Rs 20,200 for urgent processing.
