The Punjab government has updated its solar panel loan program through the Roshan Gharana Scheme. Now, only active tax filers will qualify for loans to install solar panels, a change intended to simplify the process and ensure financial responsibility.

Tax Filer Requirement:

• The new stipulation requires all borrowers seeking solar panel loans to be active taxpayers.
• This condition applies specifically to consumers using between 201 and 500 units of electricity.

• Consumers utilizing up to 200 units of electricity are exempt from the tax filing requirement, making it easier for low-usage households to access the loans.

Loan Details:

• The Roshan Gharana Scheme offers loans with a convenient repayment period of five years, making the transition to solar energy more affordable for consumers.

Today, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is set to endorse the Roshan Gharana scheme in a special meeting. This initiative is aimed at boosting renewable energy adoption across the province, facilitating easier installation of solar panels through accessible bank loans.
