IHC new bench to take up Toshakhana case
ISLAMABAD: A new bench has been constituted to hear petitions against the arrest of founder Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case.
A division bench comprising Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of Islamabad High Court will hear the Toshakhana case today(Thursday).
On July 25, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz held a hearing, on behalf of the founder PTI, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq was asked not to listen to the case.
The lawyers said that the PTI founder filed an petition against the Chief Justice in the Supreme Judicial Council, they did not listen to the case. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq had rejected the request to leave the bench due to the filing of the reference.
After Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz went on vacation, the division bench is now unavailable to hear the case, due to the unavailability of the previous hearing bench, the new division bench will hear the case.
