FIA foils human trafficking attempt at Multan airport
Multan: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) foiled a human trafficking attempt and offloaded more than a dozen passengers from a plane bound for Saudi Arabia.
According to FIA officials, 15 passengers on the plane were offloaded to go to Saudi Arabia. Upon investigation, the passengers said that they were going to Spain from Saudi Arabia.
FIA said that two human traffickers who were traveling with the passengers have been arrested and a case has also been registered.
The FIA officials further said that the suspects involved in human trafficking had charged Rs 1.5 million person per passenger to send them Spain.
Earlier, The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Crime Circle Abbottabad has arrested Shahnaz Begum, a fugitive accused of a multi-million rupee fraud under the guise of Hajj and Umrah packages.
The arrest was made following a coordinated operation led by Deputy Director FIA Abbottabad, Babar Khan.
The operation was executed by a team comprising Sub-Inspector Tahir Khan, Sub-Inspector Bilal Tanoli, Head Constable Amir Nazir, and FC Nadeem, along with Lady Constables Rimsha Khan and Zoneera Bibi. They conducted a raid that led to the successful arrest of Shahnaz Begum.
