LHC summons DG FIA in Azam Bokhari fake video case
LAHORE: Lahore High Court(LHC) has summoned Director General Federal Investigation Agency(FIA) along with travel history over non-appearance in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) leader Azma Bokhari fake video case.
Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Aalia Neelum heard the petition of Azma Bokhari against fake video, in which the public prosecutor and Azma Bokhari’s lawyer appeared in the court.
During the hearing, Justice Aalia Neelam inquired that where the DG FIA is. On this, the public prosecutor informed that he had gone to China for a meeting at the official level.
The Chief Justice said that DG FIA should appear in the next hearing, boarding passes and travel history should be presented.
During the hearing, Azma Bokhari’s lawyer said that FIA says we don’t know where Falak Javed is, we are trying to catch him. Justice Alia Neelam said that FIA comes unprepared every time.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 30.
It is pertinent to note that in the last hearing of this case, the LHC summoned FIA DG to appear in today’s hearing but he can’t appear as he is in China.
Earlier, Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Ordinance was challenged was challenged in the Lahore High Court(LHC), requesting the court to declare it unconstitutional and all orders taken in this regard to be set aside.
A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court against the Practice and Procedure Ordinance. Petitioner Munir Ahmed filed the petition through advocate Azhar Siddique. The federal government and others have been made parties in the petition.
