PTI moved to LHC seeking permission for rally at Minar e Pakistan
LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has approached the Lahore High Court for permission to hold rally or public gathering at Minar e Pakistan.
Earlier, the Senior Vice President of PTI Central Punjab submitted a request to the Deputy Commissioner Lahore for a rally at Minar e Pakistan, but now Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has submitted a new request to the Lahore High Court for a gathering in Lahore.
PTI leader Akmal Khan Bari has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court in which Punjab government and Deputy Commissioner Lahore have been made parties.
It has been argued in the petition that October 5 is the birthday of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, so the rally should be allowed to hold public gathering at Minar e Pakistan.
In the request, it is assured that the participants of the meeting will fully follow the legal regulations.
It should be noted that, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a meeting at Kahana’s place in Lahore, but it was stopped as soon as the time of the meeting was over and the police turned off the microphones and lights.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted an application to the Rawalpindi authorities, requesting permission to organize a rally on September 28.
PTI has formally informed the deputy commissioner’s office that it plans to hold the public gathering at either Liaquat Bagh or Bhatta Chowk.
