KP Govt bans employees from attending PTM rallies
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has banned government employees from attending the banned Pashtun Tahafuz Movement(PTM) rally.
According to the notification issued by the government, all the government departments and employees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are informed that legal action will be taken if they participate in the program or activity of any banned organization.
The notification states that physical, financial or other participation, whether overt or covert, is illegal.
It should be noted that a few days ago, the federal government had imposed ban PTM.
The Ministry of Interior Affairs also issued a ban notification on PTM. The Interior Ministry statement said that PTM is a threat to peace and security in the country, under Section 11B of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. PTM is banned.
Earlier, a resident of Khyber tribal district moved the Peshawar High Court against the establishment of Pakhtun Qaumi Adalat by the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) in the district.
The petition was filed by a resident of Khyber, Khatirullah, through advocate Daniyal Asad Chamkani.The federal and provincial governments, commissioner Peshawar Division, deputy commissioner, Inspector General of Police, and Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of PTM have been named as respondents in the petition.
