Punjab police ready to thwart PTI’s final protest call
LAHORE: Punjab police has devised comprehensive strategy to deal with Pakistan Tehreak e Insaf(PTI) protest and sit-inn scheduled on November 24 in federal capital, Islamabad.
Punjab Police has decided to deal strictly with those who disturb the law and order situation.
On the order of IG Punjab, additional inspector general of police (AIG) Operations Punjab has sent a letter to the concerned officers.
According to the letter, 10,700 personnel have been put on standby from across Punjab and 3,500 from Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), 1,000 from Punjab Constabulary (PC) while 3,000 personnel are already there. 1000 personnel from Special Protection Unit, 1200 personnel from Training Directorate have been put on standby.
It is said in the letter that 1300 people are already there from Gujranwala region. 500 personnel from Sargodha region are on standby and 400 already there. 200 personnel from Sheikhupura and 100 personnel from Nankana Sahib have been put on standby.
According to the letter, 200 personnel from Bahawalnagar and 300 personnel from Bahawalpur are on standby. 300 personnel from Muzaffargarh and 200 personnel from Okara have been kept on standby.
The Central Police Office (CPO) and district police officer (DPO) will be responsible for the transport of the force.
