PML-N’s former UC Chairman shot dead in Karachi
KARACHI: Former Union Council (UC) Chairman of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) was shot dead in Baldia Town area of Karachi.
One person was killed in a firing near Baldia Town No. 7 in Karachi, the victim was identified as 65-year-old Amanullah Afridi. Police say that the incident seems to be a case of personal enmity.
The police said that the deceased belonged to the PML-N and was a candidate in the local body election from UC-5 Abidabad.
The deceased was targeted while leaving the mosque after offering the Fajr prayer and later the body has been shifted to the hospital.
CCTV footage of the incident was obtained by law enforcement agencies, in the footage, the accused can be seen firing at Amanullah, the police have recovered bullet shells from the scene.
The crime scene unit has collected the evidence from the scene.
The police say that the incident seems to be a case of personal enmity, but the victim’s son said that we have no enmity with anyone.
Earlier, Security Forces have killed two khwarij during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to ISPR, the operation took place in the Kolachi area of DI Khan district, where one khwarij was apprehended in critical condition. During the operation, troops successfully targeted the militants’ location, resulting in the death of two khwarij, while another was injured.
